It eases forth in rippled waves,
Upon these shores of earth and sea, cusped by
shallow waters, and those quiet depths
Beneath. And flown like a fountain,
From the heart of Cupid’s wings, so she
Gently passes on, amongst the shade,
Of Ash and Willow trees; as they hide
Her from those watchful stars who linger
Yet above. So she dips her fingers
in, anoints them with its touch,
and watches this stream of silent life,
falter on and by. They pass along
her offer, this sea of golden fins,
and dress her with their supple folds,
gently along her hands. And as she opens
her eyes, to another dawn of light,
So the sky clasps between the stars and
dying rays of night. And she turns away
once more, to the sun who passes by, and
whispers the dawn, silently, goodnight.
