Buried

BURIED

Now...
My deepest apologies,
can't find their receipt
without help of your kindly permission.

So don't close the gate-
sure God would not do,
give allowance for traumatic condition.

Compassion ever invites
to complete forgiveness,
no matter how, heinous the done crime.

You hold up Good Book
as it is your given right,
but for forgiveness, you'll not find time?

So, hope you are a man
not lacking a good heart,
allowing forgiveness to rule over wrath!

The apology is trapped,
my crime is in the light,
please release me, so to put it in the past.

After I jumped the gun
feelings at much a run
big mistake was begun.
When all said and done
it was not so much fun,
there may be just a one
time to finish a thing, I confess I'd begun.

My comment was not
intended as personal.
I don't know or have a clue who you are!

I ranted and raved,
so I could be saved
and in this, sad we'll not be getting so far.

This thing you hold
with no ear for me
would bests be lying upsiddown in't dust.

This is the last deal,
I do hear myself feel
soon in a grave we'll be
then with the 'friend', we can, both, trust!
In heaven to meet the Friend we can trust.
Soon in a grave we'll be, and all this, will be dust.
Soon enough, in a grave we'll be, and all this will be dust.
Soon enough in a grave we'll be, and all this, only be dust.

All good words written, with a true invitation
deserve the so honour, to fulfil their intention.
Sometimes the events, to bring about a change,
there's no need to mention, can seem fairly strange!
(Here me lay, we'll all be here one day!)
Carried away, I am faulty, mistakes were not in my plan
please forgive me my wrong doing, I was not an evil man.
Unearth that, buried treasure, and put it all in the light!

Author notes

Intended apology to a man I don't know, and have never spoken with.
A man of great heart and forgiving compassion, who then granted me pardon, after my falling into great error and causing difficulty.
This poem will always stand dedicated, to Buried Treasures, with much thanks and deepest respect. After learning a lesson I shall never forget from his poetry.

In a list

New, I would welcome all and any sincere responses. Thanks

Well, Sol, I have to say I admire your sincerity... This is a fantastic write which goes way beyond words and into the realms of true reflection. One of the most difficult things for us to do is right wrongs, but it takes real courage and humility to acknowledge publicly our mistakes... Awesome...

Well written, unpretentious and with humility, just as an apology should be. And a noble thing to write it.

    I love a happy ending

The gift of expressing words brought about a rift between you, and "BuriedTreasures", but that same gift brought about forgivness and friendship. You both respect and admire each other's work, and that is a great place to start.

    • In A Nut-Shell!

Thank you so much for recognising all this slightlyolder (What a great name!)
I am new to writing poetry publicly and for all I know, purely for the reasons you point out, this could well remain the most important one I ever write. I know surely that it will always be unique and have very special placing for me!
It's also so very good to know, I can now, be welcome and benefit from looking into BuriedTreasures 'chest'!
  • To Forgive is Divine

a Well- Written Piece and I am both flattered and impressed by your writing of it.
It shows both a quality of Honesty & Humility in you that is to your credit.
I do not enjoy placing anyone on my ignore list and thus, you will be removed from it and all is well.
Thank you for taking the time to write this poem and asking for forgiveness which I happilly grant.
    Nice to meet you!

    • A man of great heart and compassion

I could not have hoped for more generous response, to my apology, so due to you. Such expression of forgiveness could only come from a man of great heart and compassion, and whatever eyes see, I can feel it.
I am greatly indebted to you Buried Treasures, for granting me such weight lifted, which I brought on myself.

On top of all this you have expressed admiration for my 'effort', which will always hold a special place for me, as your poetry will.
This 'poem' is forever dedicated to you B Treasures...

and it is so nice to meet you!

after talking with you, I can now see how this came about and the how the words layer upon each fragment... how it grows into your apology and light too...

you offer light, which is always, always part of forgiveness

strong and solid piece of writing

    • Monument to bury something under

You know, I hadn't even thought about the layering! It just wrote that way.
So obvious now you point at it, but I didn't reason it out apart for wanting to make a pillar, a monument to bury something under. Very much thanks

that's the beauty of writing, when something happens naturally and it works and you get great poetry from it.
