Jesus, as a Capricorn
with Aries rising in rebirth,
would you take tea with me,
ignore my rambling
about understanding teapots
needing equal evaluation,
validation, as they sit patiently
with only the warmth
of close-knitted-cosy,
whilst most
only value pretty patterned
bone china, or leaves blended
in a fusion of unfair trade
without recourse to fisted
fiscal policy,
would you dip a bourbon biscuit
into your brew and enjoy the elixir
of company from life's poetry,
and see that such is my affection
a connection is felt
within the open invitation
as honest as Mother love,
so that all stars
are seen, according to astrology,
allowed to shine not once
but twice

I like this, I don't know why .. but I do. Actually thats not quite true as the poet pens something here that flows so very well and just doesn't seem like it has any relgious conections at all.

VERY interesting take on the theme!

Excellently done sister. LOL I don't know why but before reading you, I get in the habit of taking a deep breath. Although sometimes, I read some poems out loud (to get an effect), this one was NOT read out loud but until I finished reading, I didn't realize that I was holding my breath. From beginning to end, I exhaled slowly. Why? I don't know! Your writes flow so smoothly. Love them. One.

Excellent
Yep now that would be an invitation, one I think would shock the nation. You and God there supping tea. Are but he may like Coffee and digestives with chocolate on, then again, on second thoughts he possibly may like to pick up a penguin and share in a milk shake from McDonalds. Sorry could not resist. The poem is actually Excellent, and thought provoking as to what form of poetry would be talked about and debated but either way a light would be shared with common feelings of love. best wishes Brian.

I can't speak for Jesus, but since I'm a Capricorn too, I think he will accept this very beautiful, honest and open invitation to sit at the table of this poet who so understands the human soul and heart. Beautiful poetry - the religion of love and light!! Yes, indeed, "honest as mother's love". Simply adored this poem!
