Back off

do I know you,

do you know me?

noooooo !!!!!!

my belly [yes mine]

is it wearing a sign

"touch me-rub me"?

NO!!

did I invite you

to step into my space?

so close that I can't breathe-

too close for comfort,

my comfort-my belly!

yes, it is protruding,

yes I am pregnant,

yes there is a baby in there.

but is that a pass for you

to feel free to touch me,

MY belly, MY baby, MY personal space!

where have your hands been,

did you wash them?

-I just saw you come out of the restroom-

a public one.

aaahhhhh-public is the key...

the restroom is

MY belly is not!

step away,

they say that six feet is the proper distance

for personal space,

I want mine, I need mine,

my hormones are making me claustrophobic,

I might scream at you,

I might punch you!

hear me

as I am not speaking,

but I am thinking

I am screaming in silence,

caged words of annoyance;

at YOU and YOU!

at everyone

that feels free to touch me now

did you know that a belly is personal property

[even if it is sticking out]

so please-hands off, but would you be so kind,

look at my feet-do my shoes match?

I put them on in a hurry,

and it has been forever,

that I have been able to see

MY feet..........

Author notes

just a tongue in cheek take on the picture and your pregnancy. Congratulations btw . I remember always getting irritated while pregnant and everyone feeling entitled to touch my stomach------referring to strangers in stores and all public places....

    LOL ...

this is hilarious. What a strange take on that.

Personal space is six feet? I think not. I would say two or three maybe, but six? No way. There wouldn't be room for all the people in a crowded room that way.

Anyway, good job on this one.

    Happy Easter!

Lol Oh I reember those days too, such personal liberties people take when you are enciente. A humorous point of view to something that irks me still...personal space! Love, C

Back off? Now THAT caught my attention! Here I thought you were merrily going about your life... oh, the bun-in-the-oven thing... Well, I shall henceforth conduct myself properly when in public- I will only run up and try to listen from now on...

Even when your belly was sticking out,
you were still capable of a 12 round bout.
And it was appropriate you so knocked me out,
as I was such a dreg of a low life little lout.

ahhh yes, your write was far more than just amusing
as women when they're pregnant are so damn confusing.
now I guess I should remain silent of stupid words,
lest you get angry and simply give me the birds.
