What if this isn’t real?
It’s all a dream,
A twisted, sick nightmare of lies.
The truth is your enemy.
Liars and cheaters make the top.
Dreamers make the rules,
Contorting every detail to fit their story.
Controlling the minds of others,
Making them zombies in their lives.
Trapped inside a broken world.
Stuck together forever,
Feeling pain over and over.
Ripping out their own hearts just to heal the hurt.
The clock ticks.
Minutes roll by,
Crossing the earth like time bombs.
Crashing and burning down to the uneven soil.
Demons roam freely,
Left to die,
But killing until the end.
In this nightmare we call life,
Nothing is normal.
The world is corrupted.
No longer does the sun shine down.
No longer do the birds’ songs echo through mountains.
No longer do the leaves change and fall and grow again.
The world is no more.
Taken over by an altered form of a twisted reality.
Anger forms in your lovers’ eye as you watch them scream.
Scream for your life to end,
For this to be once and for all the ultimate death.
No one wants to die though.
They go through their lives like robots.
No longer do they have any emotions.
Tears run down their faces,
Mixing with the rain and ashes from the fires.
They’re all lost;
Never to be found again…

The beginning of this was kind of rough, but by the middle, I really started to like it. If I was to suggest anything, it would be to concentrate on showing more in your poems rather than just telling me what's happening. I really like the third stanza, though, the end of it especially. It really put a great image in my head. Good write! Good luck in the contest
