It was a tree in the center of the first garden which led the first humans to
be tempted, and consequently making a serious choice of self-will, thus, losing the perfect place of life.
It was a fig tree that prompted the prophesied Saviour into illustrating
to his followers how useless it would be were it not bearing good fruit, thus cursed.
It was a tree carved into the form of a cross whereby this same God-in-man would stand in for us and all of the world’s sins from the first day until the final one by dying a terrible death and paying for a crime that he never committed.
In the middle of the garden,
stood the tree that trapped
His lovers within the lie
a cursed branch fruitless
the first life stopped
so doomed to die
Flogged upon the perch of Truth
ascends the last Adam, martyred
this foretold man from eternity,
as in beginning once more
it took a tree.
So many of us don't really ...'get it'. Do you?

Powerful Symbols
I got chills. This is what you wrote did for me: (and I am very much a beginner in the art of the written word, but I am a voracious reader, and I know what I feel)
The Christ - The Tree.
His Body/Bread - The Trunk/Wood.
His ancestors - the roots.
His Apostles - the branches.
His Children/Brothers (us) - the fruit.
The Christ - The Tree: present, majestic, solid, powerful...yet mortal, organic.

It would be interesting to do a word study in the Bible for "tree". I'm sure there would be a treasure trove tied to that word.
To keep with the eternal mind-set, I would like to refer another tree, seen in Eden, which will reappear at the end of the age. That tree God would not allow Adam and Eve near in their fallen state, so they were ushered out of the Garden. To have allowed them to eat from the tree of life would have left them cursed for all eternity, with no hope whatsoever.
Biblically sound, it's most important part, wrapped in almost flawless artistry of the word.

What a wondrous Easter Message ...
written from a divine perspective ... I, being a tree hugger, find the references in the Bible to trees very apt. The olive tree, lemon tree, almond tree; the cedar tree. In my soul I stretch myself out to the Tree of Life, which will sprout new branches and which will stand by the River of Living Water ...
Thank you for reminding us of the fruit we must show ... for we are trees too, in his Garden of Eden.
Love to you my friend.

A beautiful write to read on this Sunday morning before going to church. I shall be thinking of you, as you are that special friend who first welcomed me to AP. Thank you for keeping our eyes on the reason for this time of the year.

Eve was trapped in a lie, a deception led to her sin. But Adam made a choice, fully aware of the consequences. And you'll notice that God did not intervene when Eve sinned, only after Adam made his choice. Perhaps it was the choice more than disobeying that holds significance. What if Adam, confronted with Eve's sin, had chosen differently -- and was Lucifer counting on that? Imagine that situation, one cast out of the garden, the other still within, the small human family divided. And what kind of man would he have been had he chosen differently? No, he could not let her leave the garden alone.
The last Adam too, could not let us leave the garden alone. Love is like that. He wants to bring us back to be with Him again, his prodigal children.
It was the Tree of Knowledge that proved to be our downfall, and with or predilection for self focus, we tend to make that the tree of interest. But there was another tree there in the garden, the Tree of Life. Is it not odd that there was a Tree of Life in a place where Death could not exist? Perhaps it is the Tree of Life that holds the key to our eventual relationship with God -- for I'm sure God put the trees there for our use WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT. Eve was impatient, among other things -- and boy did she pass that characteristic down to us!
Fantastic write. Inspirational and thought provoking and full of the mystery and love that is our relationship with God. I look forward to it being fully reestablished when all our questions will be answered at last.
Thank you for that lovely Easter gift. The very best I've gotten in years.
Gods' blessings to you.

Mister CaliOkie. I didn't know you were also a biblical scholar. I loved the overview you gave and embellished to this post.
I hope others can see by many testimonies how terribly efficient the Goal-maker is when we see the failure to the completion due to the Perfection of the precious Lord.
Your eventful translation gives hind sight to an old story that was always under-rated by the world.

a sad lesson we do pay, but the unfortunate one was Jesus that never sinned that gave his life for us to have another chance to have life.
I like the epitomy here you spell out
