He Is Risen

‘Twas greeted in church with a phrase
Wearing my Sunday best
I replied with a grin and praise
Life is simply a test
“He is Risen Indeed”; I said
I was thankful for daily bread
He is Risen
He is Risen
And then to my pew I was lead

‘Twas greeted in church with a phrase
Lead to my pew to sit
I would learn of God and His ways
And what we should admit
The preacher screamed; “Repent My Friends”
Admission to heaven all depends
The preacher screamed
The preacher screamed
To our God we should make amends

‘Twas greeted in church with a phrase
I listened to what he said
He spoke of how Jesus did raise
“Twas risen from the dead
He is Risen on Easter Day
So I fell to my knees to pray
He is Risen
He is Risen
For my Lord has shown me the way

Life is indeed a test, isn't it? We all need to live it to our best, be kind to others and do the best we can. I, myself, prefer someone who may not go o church much, but is kind to others and lives a good life. Rather then a Sunday go tp church person and the Monday to Saturday>watch out! I hav eknow both. I did enjoy your work. God bless.

Beautiful write, Amera. One thing I like about Easter and Spring is that it's like a rejuvenation, a rebirth. I like the background you chose for this piece. Wonderful rhyme, as well. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest.
