Perpetual Chaos

This verse--or worse--is  coming on its own.
I am not planning anything to say.
I hope iambs continue to be shown,
and that pentameters will find their way.

That said, I most remember one strange poem
about  far-out chaos, a theory
so seldom even mentioned, to show 'em
how algebra and photo imag'ry

displays perpetually more,
identical detail no matter what
enlargement this strange image bore
in photographical perfection, not

to be confused!  I used my Photoshop,
a software not accustomed to such work,
and sent it in to Winklings, just to stop
before it jabbered me to pop my cork!

With awe, I saw, amazing Ron's reply!
He knew, explained, while I'd asked only WHY?
Completely true this story should hang high
on brightest star to testify why I
could find the rhymes and type the words without
the slightest hesitation or of doubt.

My numbered memories are paltry few
but this remains forever here for you!

A well deserved silver. I like the way Ron was able to put things in place when you had simply asked "why"

    "jabbered". I like it.

This is really so well crafted. I enjoyed "listening" to the rhythm and seeing how the enjambments carried the thought from stanza to stanza. A lovely story, too! Lita

      Hi Lita,

      Muchas gracias!

"listening" to the rhythm was something no one taught me, but it sure beats counting neutral syllables (could be stressed or not)
We go into it in depth, "how to" I mean, starting Course A1, I think.

What a lovely tribute for Lyndon you've penned here, i don't know the man but he was kind enough to contribute a nice amount of points to my contest, say's alot about a person.

    Congratulations on the silver

    All the best to you

    Ken

P.s Looking forward to see what i can bring to the group or how it can better me as a writer

      Hello Ken,

Thank you for kick-starting your part in this group!

I actually got here to reply today, after one of "those days" -- I had a petrarchan sonnet (abbaabba cdecde rhyme) with pentameters written as a reply to another poet. I KNOW better than to compose in Reply, (Wordpad is safer.) but it wrote quite fast. Phone call interrupted just as I was ready to send . . . You guessed it. Poof! AAARRrgh! I had hit the wrong key.

Someday there will be a poem in it. Not today.

Have you any ideas how to get other members up-top here? By checking the Members list at right, you'll see they do visit here, some almost daily (perhaps not during the holiday) but the silence is absolutely deafening!

Lyndon, also known as Ron, is a very special guy, for a lot of reasons. Winklings is his place, a many-splendored place where many of us have hit our stride as poets.

Please read "Fractured Fractals" in this list for a fresh view of a lot of Allpoetry members and some truly amazing discussion! Ron (Lyndon) is one of the best!

How it can better you as a writer, you remarked ? That's what we are here for! Where would you like to start?

      Terry

    Another Great Exercise...

...in poetic expertize with iambs fairly pummelling my repentameting conscience. Next time someone has cause to query me on any subject banal or transcendent, within the scope of my ken, I shall strive to impart to the best of my ability, and perhaps seed also an enduring memory from the shifting Swiss cheese of my mind.
    Warmest regards to you Terry.

Congrats on the Silver! What a fun read this was as I thoroughly enjoyed it word for word. ~ I'm sure Ron was just as thrilled! Excellent Tribute!

I don't find this weird at all! I think it is very charming. Great flow. Love the line "jabbered me to pop my cork." I love the feel that it is simply your mind wandering around and spilling thoughts, here and there, in tribute to a friend and fellow poet. I enjoyed this immensely.

      Thank you M

His Inspiration lives. I kid you not!

In truth it was the poem itself that was
the prize. Would I have ever known of such
      phenomena without the privilege
of my association here? Not much!

      Pentameters keep coming now somehow;
the words fall into place without a fuss.
      It's rather like explaining miracles,
a case of "Beauty is what Beauty does!"

Sounds like Ron is more than a poet. Perhaps somewhat of a Renaissance man?

Ron is a rare man, a scientist with poetic talent. I love his poems about walking around near his home, he has a wonderful eye and he knows the names of plants.
Of course, the moment that poetry becomes work, it is less poetic. Your play with words is always entertaining.

    Thank you, Terry. Droll!

The story is about least particles of light
exciting, as photons, little atoms bright.

That is why metals gleam. Light as photons collide with metallic electrons, giving them energy and that is ejected as light. You cannot see a metal glow in the dark unless it is radioactive.
    Thank you dearest Terry.
I shall try to live long enough to make you a physicist.

    I'm not sure ...

what this is all about, but evidently Ron knows, so that should be enough.

    Thanks for entering.

Thank you Joyce cc for Jim!

You understood exactly what was happening, and I owe ecrivain01 such an awe-full lot for this!
Winklings is populated with such very special people, it is a privilege to be here too!
      .
If you could have seen the original poem that preceded this, you would have witnessed what a power there is in our own personal Muse! That is the poem that Lyndon explained to me in mathematical terminology that even I could understand--having "taken" maths through high school! (Totally unaware that chaos theory could be explained by equations! How did my Muse know to bring it here? !!) Exciting stuff!

      Thanks Lute,

Hanging it on the star is a metaphor. Normal people tack signs on walls and fences, others put it up on billboards. It is also a hyperbole, an exaggeration.

        Yes and it is also

          disney spells indeed!

As I read through the comments, ending here,
it is more than mere abundantly clear
how deeply enriching it has been and how dear
the friends who continue and persevere
in raising quality that will not disappear.

Even in this august confluence of competence
and flow of thought, we see your influence.
Obvious is the independence of this evidence
that writes itself, as if in your presence!

          Thank you!
