You walked with me
Slowly but we’d always go far.
We landed ourselves in a park
Sitting on a single swing
Looking in each others eyes
For what felt like forever.
You played with my hair
I sat on your lap
And we swayed front, back
Front, back.
You kissed me a dozen times
I stumbled on my tiptoes
To press my lips to yours
You sat on the ground
And fell to your back
In a trance
Looking at the ocean of clouds above
I questioned you,
Lightly nudged your side with my foot
You responded little.
I lowered myself from the swing
And sat myself next to you.
There was something you held in
That I knew you had to say.
I couldn’t keep my curiosity tamed.
You tried to explain
But nothing seemed to work.
You got back to your feet
And walked back and forth
Back and forth.
I returned to my seat
Swaying in the breeze.
You eventually stopped pacing
Glanced at me
And pulled me to my feet.
You held me close
And I couldn’t help but smile.
I knew you decided the words to use.
You lifted my chin
And kissed me gently again.
I rested my head on your shoulder
You began to mumble
About nothing really
And then you said it
The words I longed to hear you say.
I shuddered as they fell smoothly from your lips
I tightened my grip around your waist
And looked up into your eyes.
I wanted to agree so much
To confess the words back to you
But your eyes paralyzed me
I simply kissed you again
And rested my head back on your shoulder.
I loved you.
I did, but the words were foreign
To my unknowing mouth.
I wanted you to know
That I shared the same feelings you did.
You walked me home
We sat on the couch
And I snuggled next to you.
You held my just as close
And I truly felt secure.
Then it was time you left
I didn’t want the day to end,
Our time to be over,
The sun to set on this happiness.
I walked you to the end of the driveway
And clung to your warmth.
You didn’t want to go
And I didn’t want you to leave either.
You kissed me another dozen times
And I tried again to say it
I couldn’t.
It was on the tip of my tongue
Quite literally,
But I still choked at my attempts.
I loved you and you knew it.
You knew the terror I had
That made it so I couldn’t say what I wanted.
I insisted it was late and you should go
You walked back a couple steps
And I walked towards you
Unable to really let you leave.
I kissed you with passion
And finally gently pushed you back
I watched as you walked away.
I knew you loved me,
You said it yourself.
And I hoped you knew
How much you were cherished to me,
And I too…
Had fallen for you.

This was very sweet and touching, just like a first love should be. However, in my opinion it could be better with fewer overused expressions. Thanks for entering.
