Envious of the green leaved kings
I wish more like them I'd be.
I'd stand with pride, straight and tall,
To greet the obdurate rainfall.
I'd dance in time with the wind,
I'll move about, but I will not bend.
I will persevere through the storm.
Thunder booms but I won't come to harm.
I'll be a nest to birds and squirrels,
I'll hold a house for little boys and girls.
I'll stand my ground, and will not move.
My courage and strength, I'll have to prove.
I wish I was a green leaved king
but I'm just a transient human being.
