That Heroine

she walks into the room with her head bowed unlike the Diva she is.
my Savior. Too many years of never knowing not knowing where she is going
her palms twitch  once again as she knows that she
has to leave her babies alone again tonight
as she's done before and will continue to do
"I love you Deedee, I love you Dana-Rae. Be good."
As if saying "good" would better our situation,
fill our tummies with the hope we hunger for. I watch the door close as she leaves.
It's 5 o'clock in the morning and that kiss she blew wil have to last
from now till 8 at night. That woman who held me in her arms as she wondered how
we would eat. That superhuman Lady that stayed up late thought she was weary
to finish my homework with me.
She. Ain't you ever heard of her? Well you can see her in the office
filing papers till it's done skipping her lunchbreak just earn three more dollars to her check.
My Warrior she who sacreficed her dreams to nurture my own
You don't know her, but you think you do.  You never woke up to the steady drop of her tears as s
he patch up my clothes for school, going without dinner
so that Dee and I could eat. That's the Queen I speak of she gave up her crown to
save her children and never looked back
My Life. She saves me everyday with her calm voice and sunny smile
how can I every repay this gifft can you tell me
oh mother tell me what sacrifice I owe to the Goddess
that controls my breath. She died for me that I might live and
only Christ has payed the even penalty for my sake
And yet she smiles through the pain even when the flow was strain
she smiled held her own and continued to keep face. That Fortress
that guides me through all my days feeds me  clothes me and keeps me sane.
What title is worthy of such feat? President? Conqueror? Dictator? Emancipator? Empress?
Or maybe Mom?

Author notes

Just consider how you really feel about your mother( or any other primary guardian). Before i wrote this I was actually angry at my ma. She's making me go to a dinner party at her new work place. But then I remembered when she couldn't go to one. And i looked on my page and just started typing. I love my mom, but sometimes I forget the hard times and all she's done for me. Think about what your parent(s) have done the next time you call them unfair or say you hate them.
