Love is a cliche. Hate is a cliche. Life is a cliche. There is nothing in the world today that has not already been said or done in some form or another. Originality is something that has to be saught from the depths of our imagination. Through prose or poetry we seek to enlighten our minds, and perhaps the minds of others. We seek to release the pent up emotions within our souls and pen them on paper for other's to read and perhaps empathise. If one person can relate to a poem, 100 people have felt that emotion before, 1000 others have been in that position before, 10 000 more will cry, laugh, dream.

this describes the problem i have when writing i feel like everything i'm saying sounds redundant and has already been said a million times before. and opinion but a poetic one i think

Hmmm.... I like your opinion. But, some things are perhaps more so then others - wouldn't you say.. Like something done 10,000 times over rather than just 10? I would say some cliche things are more cliche then others. Perhaps.

In a way I do agree with you... and this is most certainly thought provoking. However I do find it necessary to try and break cliche... no matter how... impossible it may seem. I do think that it is worth it because even if everything has been done... who's to say we can't still do it better?

Hmm I totally agree with you, everything seems to be cliche. Its been said, done, experienced in every way possible.
But somethings forever true that we have this bond that transcends, we feel as if we're one.
By your writing, you are sharing some thing that is of yours so that i may realize that it is also present in me.

I disagree...poetry is emotion on paper and you've done that well. I can't argue that so much of what we hear and see is so hackneyed that it has become cliché. The hope is that by finding new words and images to express old thoughts you can touch someone – perhaps share a feeling, perhaps enlighten, perhaps only entertain and provide a momentary respite from the deluge of clichés (LOL). As you point out, so much of what we try and pen reflects common bonds we all share.
Rant or poem, I enjoyed this very much. Thank you for enlightening and entertaining… and for sharing.

How true this is. yet we as individuals still strive to experience that of others and look for the perfect life. maybe just maybe it is because we all are looking for the same thing the same path that leads us to incitement and the ever after.
