Who never quite hatched from his egg
But instead wore his shell with pride
Painted all the colors of the rainbow.
Pipp adored the Easter bunny.
Everywhere Bunny hopped,
Pipp hopped too.
Until one day Bunny let go an
AAAAAACHOOOOOO!
It seemed that our friend
had a terrible cold.
And with Easter only one week away
It was up to Pipp to save the day
So as Mrs. Claus tucked poor Bunny in bed
Pipp began production on his new line:
Easter Eggs in all colors-
his favorites were purple and red.
All week long
Pipp splashed Easter with style
And come Easter Eve he was wearing a smile
Jazzy new eggs
he hid all through each house
There were baskets of candy for each little tyke;
Always dressed up, and never alike.
Very few know of the legend of Pipp
He didnt want to steal Bunny's thunder
But next time you hunt for an eggtastic treat
Remember our Pipp, the chick wonder.

Aww this is so adorable. You have woven a lovely tale, I think pipp sounds so sweet
My kids would have loved a story like this at easter. Another unsung hero cast into the light. Superbly penned, good luck in your contest

You silly, this wasn't intended to be your best work. This is you carrying the load, and doing the heavy lifting for those who struggle in their own worlds. Now it becomes light instead of heavy and the story of Pipp is wonderful. RC

So that's what happened... the truth is finally out !! A cute story Sarah and we can always use another hero

It's a well established fact that chicks with egg shells still stuck on their heads make a "pipp" sound instead of a "peep..." it's true, you can look it up...

The most important thing about humor isn't meter or rhyme or anything else, it's that the darn thing be funny and yours is, so it's a success on its own terms.
How did Santa get into the picture, that crazy guy, he should be tending the Elves, quality control is down...I got a toy truck last Christmas with three wheels and a leg...go figure.
I was reminded of Dickens' Pip and while the hero of Great Expectations isn't a chick, he, like the chick aspired to be more...and like Pip he finally realizes who he is and what he should be.
Why yes, I put way too much thought into this.

Yem,
Thats probably subconciously where I got the name then. The first thing that came to me was: A chick named Pipp, and everything after that just kind of fell off my pen... does that happen to you? Like your not writing the story, but the story is writing you? Something tells me it does.
Anywho, thanks for giving this so much thought, not lame but cool!
