Recently retired doesn't mean that life's over
not a time to sit back and rest in sweet clover,
a new phase begins and your life starts anew
I begin with reflections of what I've been through.
Working with children, a teacher so long
can't help myself, seems just where I belong,
but not in a classroom where tests are the measure
just meeting in friendship can be such a treasure.
Activities for youth when there's nothing to do
starting a youth space to keep life in view,
gathering together with talking and fun
with games they can share and new friendships begun.
Away from the Playstations with most played alone
to communication together, a new friendship zone,
the old and the young collectively view
black and white movies where they can become two.
Other activities are on the go
connections to community as we share and we grow,
respect and tolerance a goal to believe
working together we will surely achieve.

A pleasure to see that someone has realized that youth does not hold all the cards when it comes to knowing how to live ones life.I found that old age (not that i would admit to it anywhere else)is the greatest time i have ever had. some little hiccups now and then but hey no one promised great things all the time. I now appreciate each day Great piece Good luck in the contest
