Another Bunny Day Poem

T’was the night before Easter
And all through the house
The kids were all pretending to be asleep

They knew that in the morning
They’d have to find once again
Those damned Easter eggs hid by the sheep

Or was it the bunny who hopped along
Looking all innocent and cuddly
Thinking he’d find a few lost coins and toys

Back to the kids… still faking
Wishing the eggs would disappear
Leaving just chocolate bunnies for the girls and boys

Oh, their Easter baskets were filled
Running over with lots of things
You’d think it was Christmas with all of the stuff

After all there were Christmas lights
Over there with J aime coudre’s Easter poem
But as usual with all they brought, it was never enough

Greedy kids, tired bunnies
Frazzeled moms up half the night
And kids wanting everything in sight

Wishing for more than they get
Think of all the fun they’d miss
If hens quit laying eggs and bunnies decided to strike

Author notes

I already know it's a bad poem, so just say nice things, okay?

That damn Easter Bunny by passed my house and it even snowed here...didn't see any kids looking for eggs...I guess they were busy trying to keep warm.....

I think the Easter Bunny should go on strike one year. That'd make a good poem in itself wouldnt it?

    You captured something here:

    Greedy kids, tired bunnies
Frazzeled moms up half the night
And kids wanting everything in sight

This is me and my kids! LOL

I am so insulted...you called it a bad poem when you know darn well it's the style of humor I write! I'm so insulted it hurts!

Yes, it's Yemish, a Shocking tale Of Horror! and it did very much remind me of the off-the cuff stuff I think is funny...but never get me gold trophies so, maybe you are right, our wacky poems suck, lol.

But I don't care, I'd rather bust a gut laughing than get shiny bits of binary code or whatever those trophies are.

A wacky blend of Easter and Christmas, and the scary thing is...I was going to mention Santa in one of the contest suggestions...great minds thinking alike.

I don't care, if I could vote, this probably would get the gold.
