as fists empowered by failures
channel rages nurtured through generations,
my family seems merely
an accident of birth.
diminished and degraded
I fade into backgrounds;
grey stippled walls
coated with muffled moans,
a grim decoration
in my soul's dying room.

This is a touching poem... when I saw the prompt I wondered if anyone was going to do domestic violence and I'm glad that you did - you have done this so well... your words are powerful and touching, you left nothing cliche and your use of languae in this piece is wonderful
good luck in the contest!
Keep writing
