A Miracle Happened Today!

A miracle happened today,
for a little boy left in the dark.
A year I had prayed,
for someone to ease his heart.

I had kept him in my home awhile,
as his Mother and Father fought.
Sometimes there would be a smile,
with little gifts for him I bought.

Then his Mother came
and whisked him away.
I was never again, the same,
for a call came the next day.

Please, please come get me
and take me home with you,
for in this place I don't want to be,
it's cold here and I'm hungry too!

I fell to my knees with a prayer,
Father, let me help him please,
don't just leave him there,
Place a light in his heart to ease.

There was nothing I could do
except call for police to come.
They picked him up at school
and took him to a foster home.

His Dad, with drugs, went to jail,
His Mother was nowhere around.
Father, where did I fail,
for surely she'd now be found.

I prayed  for peace, the whole year,
his little heart to be blessed with love.
Then another call came, with tears,
An adopted Mother,sent from above!

A miracle happed today,
A present was sent to a boy.
Thank you, Father, I pray
as my heart is filled with joy!

Author notes

This is a real life story of a great nephew of mine. He came to me as a "throw away child" and I was not able to take him because of my health issues. Now my other neice has adopted him because she found him in the foster home.

A heartfelt poem full of hope. God answered your prayers for this child. Unfortunately it does not fit the contest criteria of abuse of a disabled child.

Sometimes it's hard to recall that all stories don't end in tragidy, and/or if they do that there are happy chapters in life worth recording. Oddly enough, I was less surprised by the throw away child than that he might find a good home.. Wow, upon reflection even I'm wondering how I've become so cynical...

But Easter is a time for ultimate happy endings. It's a day for hope and maybe that's the greatest gift we have ever received. Life and perhaps death offer very few primises and I suspect that's what makes hope so precious. Faith, hope and charity are three elements of this poem and likely the same prerequisites for salvation. Glad I stopped by,

    Rainbows,

    ~RJ~

this morning of easter-sunday, I was magically guided to your page and to this poem ... I am so touched by this story, I can't express my feelings ... I have had a (lucid) dream last friday which I would love to share with you in a private im, since I have pronounced your name "spirit mother" to a native american wise man, who confirmed that you were his spirit-sister ...

    much love,
    maa

I had goosebumps the whole time I was reading. This has so much emotion and so beautifully written. Also, I am touched by how magically sounding the additional information on your home page is. You seem like a person who really thinks from the heart.

    Seriously Great!

I truly loved this I have tears in my eyes because it is sooo good to hear good endings. I reach out to kids whenever I can and on here that's easy since I've seen so many currently in abusive situations but they won't tell or don't listen to how to get help. It's hard because I know where they are in life and I can't just make it stop for them. Seriously Great!

This really is beautiful that a child has a chance in the life he never asked to be born into. May he grow strong in body and mind and know what love and real family is. You helped him on his way to a decent life. How proud you must be.
