Before you,
the easel was stained
with the pain of ebony,
scratched and torn
from thorns of indignity.
With eyes and hands
that know tenderness,
you filled those lacerations
with a delicacy
that could melt stone.
Unable to exorcise
the darkness that scarred
the fabric of the easel,
you set about composing
another chapter.
In pastel hues
of such gentle labour
you fashioned a new light
that made the canvas
come to life once more.
In blended colours
this new composition
brought new hope.

I loved this piece for the start.
The imagery is amazing, and as Mallig said, very striking.
