As I walk the earth moves all
around me
My eyes distracted by movement
everywhere
So many things I don’t care and don’t
want to see
There are moments when I must
stop and stare
These noises that shall land
upon my ears
Not all of them are what I
long to hear
But time has been so generous
with it’s years
And I find I am no longer filled
with fear
There’s beauty in the eyes of
a smiling face
It seems more rare now in this
sad place
And I wonder what has happened
to our race
This life of mine will pass me by
with grace
And each moment is held precious
on my mind
