Blinding lights flash suddenly
But when they’re gone the effects remain
Unable to see clearly, I close my eyes
Their images still burned in my mind
Just like those lights your image lingers
Unable to rid myself of these thoughts
Questions of why and wondering if only
A fire you woken, but at a cost
Rejection wears an ugly face
Knowing there’s nothing that can be done
The facts explain it well enough
I see the signs, though my heart is young
Stolen senses harshly return
Wishing to begin again
Events replaying continuously
Evaluating what all was said
Eyes glazed from disappointed tears
Another crack in this heart of glass
Mistakes made and intentions revealed
A first kiss becomes the last
What speaks to you? What do you feel?
