Jungle heat crouched on hinds
Locked in by foreign hands.
Gnashing teeth,
Wounds and illness,
Hot box infraction,
British honor,
Japanese duty.
Escape plans shelved.
After-American
bridge is building.
Man is crazy.
Water flows and time elapses.
Go back go back
to stop the engine.
Blow the Bridge on the River Kwai
and cause disaster.
"What have I done?" the British man asks
as a machine gun blasts
and blood streams war's disgraces.
Waste and many men's mistakes
settle into the river as bodies flow away.
Tragedy comes awake.
as the doctor cries, "Madness!
Madness!"
That's what war makes.
