The Key

THE KEY

 When I know,

 I know nothing,

 No, no-thing at all.

 It meets 'All Knowing'

 Whose Vision is 'All'! No!

'He' meets me, in 'His Palace'!

 With no need for

 Any key

The

 Lock

Bolt

And

The

          Password

         Is simply

Not

'me'

 But

'He'

Author notes

Inspired by Rumi, who is known widely and Internationally, in many circles, as the worlds greatest mystical poet. This poem has been inspired by strong sentiments for his thought, which I feel finds a universal compatibility with most of the worlds greatest religious traditions.

As a safeguard: Please excuse the age old gender problem, for the 'All Knowing One'. In the language of many Eastern traditions there is often no such problem.
'He' could be substituted equally here, I feel with, 'God' 'Reality' 'Christ' 'Krishna' 'Buddha Nature' and all names used in established traditions to point to the same 'One Compassionate Reality'.

This is now longer than the poem!

  • Perfect!

I've read over 400 readings written by Rumi (who is also called the master of love) and ventured to write a few of my own in his style. I see the similarity here in this write. Is is absolutely great. Deep and meaningful and a poem which makes you ponder long after you have read it. The shape is fantastic and displaying it on a black background adds to the ambience. Everything done to perfection here.

Many times we look for the right answers, never finding them, for we make the wrong questions.
This is excellent. Perfect format and great thoughts!

    Mari

    • What you have said regarding 'questions' is so true.

Thank you so much for 'coming this way Mari'

I think Rumi is like the ocean that my trickles try to find their way to.

I very much admire Rumi, and I belong to a LiveJournal community that posts samples of his work. Very neat, the way you designed this poem to resemble a key.

I look forward to reading more of your mystic poetry. I don't see a lot of this kind of work on the Internet.
  • I like the way you set this up, as a key, and the sentiment expressed here...truly well-done!

A fantastic piece of poetry constructed well holding the key to many hearts. The spirit holds no ceremonial tradition being free of religious contrainst. Peace my brother in light and love.

    • Confession

I confess, I had hoped you would like this one. I wonder how it will appear when I've corrected the upper cases?! Thank you my brother.

now this one looks good and is more in line with the idea of using formed poetry to add a visual aspect

Well then ,let's all make beautiful illusions together. Maybe that is what it's all about. It's really easy for a great talent to be totally overlooked today. Never despair!
