Lost in a black hole
called life. His
steady gaze meets my
tortured expression.
This pain cannot cease
to fill my life. I thought it
would end. But this razor
blade is still
in control.
He trys to help me.
But I can't help but
to shut him out.
He grabs my wrist and
pulls me around to
face him. He looks
at the scars on my arms
and his eyes fill
with tears.
I can't bear to look
at him any more. I wish
I could have him hold me
but my life has always
been so empty, no love
to keep me whole.
Tell me I'll be okay. Instead
he turns away. I pray he
won't shun me the way others
have. That maybe he'll help me,
maybe he'll love me, like
no one has before.
He's always been my best
friend, please let him
be my gaurdian angel.
My heart beats faster as he
turns around. His tear
filled eyes, full of
sorrow.
"I'm sorry" He whispers, softly
as he rolls his sleeve up to
bare his arm.
For the first time in a long time
I feel hope
as he pulls me tenderly into his
arms. "Don't let me go!" I plead.
"Never again will you be alone" He
says as he shows me his arm.
Criss crosses of scars
cover his arm up to his elbow.
Tears fall as I curl into his into
his chest. Never again will I be alone.
But I sit up in bed and realize
it was just a dream. My life was as
empty and loveless as it was yesterday.
No hope, no love. Just a vast, empty
void.
