You called the Lake District in England home,
Where words you penned gave Ruler’s a rare shove,
You contrast Colonies to war with Rome,
In poem called “The Eagle and the Dove”.
Where Sire’s children followed in same steps,
Or those who fought in Vennes of West France,
They raged about the beardless boy’s missteps,
Who Sovereigns underrated at first glance.
My question sir, is how you kept your head,
Your words did surely raise a few to flush,
For certain those who thought you best lay dead,
And blood red let in colonies to gush.
It must weight high to be renowned in days,
Thence delved you into reason thus transcend,
To whit when those words candles set ablaze,
Secure those deeds with pen duly portend.
The coming of inevitable defeat,
By young men who are blessed the same as they,
With pride of both, your words show no deceit,
Know, flowers grow, where all dead laid from fray.

I still like.
Wordsworth was a favorite of mine. I still like. -
I have heard the name of william wordsworth several times recently (which for this ignorant maa means that she has to go and read something from this fellow
) ... I guess I shall start with the eagle and dove poem - it reminds me of a poem I wrote called "eagle's sonnet to (a) dove" - looks like I could become friends with william ...
joke aside, you truly surpassed yourself in this verse here, shakespeare wouldn't have done a better job ... I wonder where you find all this inspiration ...
bowing before your poetic talent,
maa
