Glimpses

I see Glimpses of happiness like pieces to a picture that has been torn apart yet hope still remains that love just may remove the stain of pain that tore that beautiful picture apart I'll try to do my part do some self respect-taking a class is a start and working out every day is a part I'll even put a meeting on my daily chart but I realize that only Love can mend my broken heart-It seems the shame of a once beautiful picture being destroyed has left me with only Glimpses of what once was. Only true love sent from above can unlock my bound heart-you showed me Glimpses of that love and all i can simply say is Thank You. Maybe I can learn to Love Maybe the Glimpses of that picture can become a reality again. I'm hesitant but I must give it a Chance.

Author notes

My Mother committed suicide when i was 8, this poem is about a broken heart, yet how Love from someone special can bring hope back to ones life. That Life is really all about Love, and that Love can instill Hope.

    hurting early

My heart goes out to you, this is a powerfully painful place to visit. It does sound like you have the emotional strenght to face this turmoil head on, this must have been very hard to share. I often wonder how I would cope in a situation like this. The shape of your poem appears to be prose, alltough the first half is ryhme. an interesting format. thank you for sharing. rudolf

Wow, this is precious. It seems like it must have been hard to post something on such a tender subject here on AP; I think this is very heart-touching and emotional poem that a lot of people will be able to relate to. Thanks for sharing something memorable.
