sowing soul seed...

as the shadows fall
defined between the
bursts of sallow
moonlight the
infected
walk through
the shops
and malls of one
slowly rotting
nation

the
corruption
we spread
isn't your
typical
evil darkness
we are merely the
modern demons, who
lacking a better medium
to infect the youth, we turn
to that which their society has
created abundantly for them

that is
to say
we give
them
the
modern
day
sins

superficiality
condescension
ignorance
laziness
sarcasm
apathy

these
the
youth
readily
consume
and so make
our job all the
easier

the seeds of
this decay
we plant
deep within
the cracks of
a damaged ego
one that needs to grow
we just give it some
incentive to help
it along

as the soul
of the infected
slowly is consumed
by the rampant growth
of the out of control ego
we know our work has been done

for when one such being
interacts with others
they spread the seed
whether or not it
gets accepted
depends on
the state
of their
ego

if it's strong
the seed is rejected
if it's at all damaged
then we have another recruit
that makes one more in the army
of the modern vampires of
the 21th century
we walk
and we spread
