as i take comfort
in the blanket of night
remembering when
i could walk in the sun
missing its heated kiss
upon my flesh
being cursed now
as a child of darkness
remembering myself
when i was a child of god
when i was free
to share the day
my ignorance
in believing in everything
now was once
a beautiful world un-touched
i look up at the sky
as the stars gaze upon me
praying for a chance
to get it back again
of what once was
i crave to be there
sadness
filling my very being
as i turn away and hide
from dawns wakening light

Beautifully written.
Reminds me of a book...
Actually the first book by an author,
Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.
"In The Forest Of The Night"
One of my favorites.
'tis hard to get me to like something written of vampyres,
So, well done.

Thank you for your entry, a good take off the prompt mixing in a few of the lines giving, a good story within. Beast wishes, Ken IBT

Well done darling. I like the structure of this and the message was one that I don't think I've ever read from you before... the Vampirish thing... nice touch though.
Good luck in the contest, you did very well.
