The Healing Vow

Missing image

Proud and vigilant his warrior's heart

had fought and slain so many evil souls.

But the enemies of light grew too strong

on that plain where they gathered in their might

to conquer his city and his clan,

their vile revenge plotted over his past victories.

In valiant stand he stood with his brothers,

riding his stallion of such powerful breed,

fighting the invading darkness's onslaught, outnumber ten to one,

bringing death to hundred before he and his animal fell

lifting up in dying plea a prayer unto the gods for their help.

Thus they raised his spirit and his steed's, merged as one, invincible and fierce,

sworn to divine powers to forever serve their purposes,

riding in the healing vow to an eternity of clashes,

one immortal body with two creatures' spirits

bringing forth heaven's justice and thunder wherever traveled.

A good title. A very good write and interpretation of the picture prompt. A very good story, with the feel of a legend. Good imagery, flow and tone. Vivid descriptives. Good word choice, alliteration and assonance. Thank you for your entry.
