lacking substance, gaining strength.
Whispered voices, raging shouts,
questioning, telling and unyielding.
Sepulchral shadows cast in empty rooms,
forsaken by time and memory.
Awakened and drawn by insomniatic lullabies.
Prophetic dreams, eclectic visions,
altered states of consciousness and self.
Thoughts transcending space and time,
blurred, chaotic and confused.
Unwritten potentials of infinite choices,
confined in metaphysical reality.
Conceived, perceived, and sensed by few.
Unknown faces revealed,
in perception’s twilight mood swings.
Projected thoughts from faceless crowds,
emotional bombardment in the wake of strangers.
Overcrowded in solitude, deafened in silence,
Death’s sonnet written through living flesh.
Fated… gifted… cursed…
And shrink’s diagnose it as schizophrenia...

After a strange chat with a spooky Gasman, another chat with a good friend of mine & twice since been asked if I'm psychic, I looked into the possibility of a link between psychic ability & psychosis. The link was stronger than I imagined & so I wrote this piece to highlight the similarities.

This is fantastic.
Wow! I need to read more of your work, especially now that I joined the Ghost Whispers group. I'm more empathic myself. You're definitely psychic, without a doubt. I used to be very intuitive when I was little, especially with prophetic dreams, but not so much as I got older unfortunately. You made a very valid point. Psychic abilities often do get diagnosed as mental illnesses like paranoid schizophrenia.

This poem fills me with such an arrray of emotions and thoughts I am not sure where to begin.
As a child I was considered mentally ill, I was raised in institutions, group homes, hospitals- through it all I seen things I didnt want to see.
It is strange to read your poem.. it feels like you entered my mind- extracted my thoughts and placed them more beautifully then I could have.
As my mental illness left so did the things I shouldnt know- funny though they both return from time to time. Right before the storm.
Thank you for sharing, please forgive me for going on so much about myself while commenting on your profound write.

Every word here I feel so deeply in my heart, body and soul. The truth of this write is astounding...I do understand so well my dear brother...I do!

Wow amazing!! It's funny what people won't accept as a reality but will so easily diagnose as a disorder, for the fear of the truth. Very well written, enjoyable read.

-
Excellent choice of words. That makes alot of sence. Explaining the unexplained. You are awsome. I may now be able to sort all things that I have not been able to define so far in life. This is a enlightning peice and I am grateful you have shown it to me. Pen on with your thoughts, you amaze me so once again. Thanks for another powerful share.

Fritz,
You are genius in poetry. How do you improve so quickly? I looked at this and face it as it is. An incredible write that will get recognition. Word choice, form and content and appearance is 'extraordinarily perceptive'. I bow to you for this piece. The best understanding of 'mental illness' or 'mental disorder' that I have seen done in poetic form.

-
Great write exploring the psychic possibilities and being diagnosed by mundane medicine as schizophrenia.
Always man will need to name the animals I suppose.

-
Blimey!!! One heck of a write you have done here Fritz and it goes a fair way to explaining it all to someone like me who is ignorant of most things to do with the mind. I can see now how this could be a curse until you can understand and then control if you want to be open to it or not. It must be very frightening until you know what is going on. A gift or a curse? I can see that could possibly change depending on your frame of mind at the moment. Brilliant write, informative.

This is an excellent poem ...
psychosis or not.

-
Blew me away ..
WOW those words those thoughts are dark eerie yet enters the mind..
Each stanza spoke ..
The last stanza reveals the twist of diagnoses..
A brilliant creative piece of poetic art
Best wishes

Wow, what can one say after reading this one, most impressive indeed, thanks for your entry and good luck in my contest lol
-
Indeed many psychic gifted ones are so sensitive that it appears there may be a mental disablity. Learning how to harness the energy that surrounds you and protecting your self with white light may help to bring balance into your life, along with the help of your physician

-
I really liked the imagry of this poem, and I like the fact that it made me pull out my dictionary and look up a few words, lol. Good write.
-
Sometimes.
Yes they have a name or label if you will for those things that they do not understand. I know quite a few with the disorder. I am always interested in your work. Thanks for describing this in the manner that you did. -
I agree. So very little is understood about it. I do believe that one becomes more psychic the less grounded one is in the every day "Maya" that most people accept as unquestioned reality. It has long been a theory of mine that people with schizophrenic are just more receptive to things that "normal" people do not perceive, or block from their consciousness. Good write, and thank you for sharing with us! Congrats on the h.m.
-
Wow what a very thought provoking write! Amazing imagery and emotion. Thanks for sharing this amazing and incredible write with the world!

Wow, a highly interesting piece. I had to get the dictionary out a couple of times..lol. But I love it. Not something I would have ever given any thought to until now....superbly penned, good luck

-
This is excellent. It flows beautifully and the last line brings it together well making the read say: "oh, shit." Thank you for entering this, it's wonderful and good luck in judging!
-
Indeed.
You know I never thought of it in that way, until you brought it up. The poem compells you to think in ways that are outside the box. In fact the poem smashes the box. I am a person that tries to look at all the angles

I Love this! WoW!
I had to read it over and over!
I can't wait to talk to
you about this Fantastic piece!!
Until then...
