Drops glistening on the tips of icicles
The first splash of green appears
Through the still frosted window pane
As I put my head on my pillow
My mind is lost
In thoughts of spring
Eyes fluttering open
I pull up the blinds
Morning sunlight streams into the room
Illuminating my hair with streaks of gold
Adrenaline carries me outside
The warm fresh air hitting my skin
Running on the spongy green grass
Cartwheeling through forget-me-nots
Spring is here
And I am free.

A very pretty write for the new spring. Good luck.

Such wonderful descriptive words to form a piece rich with imagery! This was a real delight to read and will have lasting images in my mind. Best wishes in the contest!

Wonderful! I can see myself going to bed at night and looking out the window to see snow and then when the brilliant sunlight goes through the white curtains illuminating everything in my bedroom...walking to the window and noticing that all the snow has melted away and the grass is popping up everywhere. My favorite part of waking up in Pennsylvania on the first day of spring was noticing all the daffodils and morning glory's waiting for the sun to hit their petals and waking up the fairies inside.
I love this poem!
Thank you,
Amadahy Rayne
