Once Was Our World (To A Childhood Friend)

Once was our world –

Memories of toys, pets, and friends;
You were the one who crossed the fence,
And it’s true as long as I live
Trust is not that so hard to give.

Once was in our world –

I was the queen; you were the king
We ruled the hill imagining
We sailed ships on long voyages;
And spent nights in Middle Ages.

For once was in our world –

B. Palace was just down our street,
Nanny’s rice pudding was a treat,
Christopher Robin played with Pooh;
Little me had you as my boo.

    awwww....so sweet, very nostalgic too....i love repetition and you used it very well....the stanza that said "i was the queen; you were the kind" reminded me a lot of "bridge to terabithia"--but all in all it's a beautiful poem ;] thank you for entering and the best of luck in the contest....

    Godbless :]
