The Moon

I laid down last night,
Silently in the grass.
I watched the moon and clouds,
Such a deep contrast.

I watched the moon,
Dance behind a darkened cloud.
I sat alone,
Just thinking aloud.

The moon came out,
Free at last.
I laid there for hours,
So much time had passed.

I wanted so badly,
To fly through the sky,
To land on the moon-
Gravity I would defy.

I wondered what it would be like,
To leave this world behind.
To escape the demons that hold me here,
To leave behind mankind.

I wish that I could light up the sky,
And be the one to guide the way-
To help others find their home,
Those that went astray.

Suddenly I woke up,
With much disregard.
I found my broken body,
Laying in the yard.

I glanced up in time to see,
The moon again disappear-
The world left in darkness,
I’ve lost my way I fear.

Can ya'll please tell me if you can figure out the symbolism?

Very nice...You take the perfectness of the moon and mix it in very nicely. Job well done.
