Revolution : Who's with me?

If no one looks to see,
the endless injustice laid before me...
If no one cares to know,
government as our greatest foe...
Who will stand beside me?
Who will fight for freedom...
if we forgot what it is to be free?

The caged bird still sings
And the freedom bell still rings,
if "they" say its so
If Bilderberg gives it the go
Empty words and empty eyes,
still we do not uprise

Federally reserved nation
Worthless money guised as salvation
Paper Gods shepherd the sheep
Lull us successfully to sleep
Tucks us in, only to feed again
Locked in a trance in the dragons den
The cows go moo and the sheep do too
Originality like a sin

I'd rather taser my own sovereign skin,
than conform my God given virtue,
Than shut up and look out of their window,
onto the rolling hills of their corrupt view
I'd rather eat shit,
than do what "they" want me to

But if no one looks to see...
all the signs signaling you and me...
how will we ever be free?
The body dies but I will live eternally,
So I'd rather die for a cause,
than die just because
Who's with me?

Revolt. Very powerful and full of truth.

    "Paper Gods shepherd the sheep
    Lull us successfully to sleep
Tucks us in, only to feed again"

I love your style and vocabulary. I can feel the anger and hope in your words. Always a pleasure to read your work. Wonderfully done.

    Brilliant

If there ever was any democracy in the US of A it was murdered by Joseph Macarthy. It is difficult to enthuse a nation whose newspapers dole out slanted "news" (owned by billionairs),and whose both political parties are war mongers who have supported dictators all over the world (when it suited them)
I thought your poem was brilliant I agree wholeheartedly with everything you stand for, most of it applies to the U.K too. Best Wishes George (JUDMC) U.K. Try my "Katrina" poem on for size youl like it!

    Revolution + Evolution

I will stand up next to you and defend those rights today! Sign me up for the Stargate! The government has always "told" us we were free but we are still regulated by the government..Does your vote really count? I don't think it does..it is all up to the regulatory systems..does charity began at home...??It doesn't seem so!

Well count me in with the revolutionaries!

I like the way the rhyme scheme wanders in and out of the poem, sometimes just falling down with the weight of anger and intensity, then picking itself up and trying again.

    A couple of small points:

Line 7 - shouldn't it be in the present tense "forget"?

    Line 16 - shouldn't "gods" be a plural, not a possessive?

Line 33 - "than" not "then"

I especially liked "federally reserved" and "originality like a sin".

Also, congratulations on your art work.

    YAY!

    Hello there.

I agree with the sentiments you have expressed so energetically in your poem. Unfortunately it's not the government which has power but the powerfully rich people behind the givernment, but how do we get rid of them?

I'd rather taser my sovereign skin,
than conform my God given virtue,

I'm a little confused about these two lines. What does taser mean?

    I'm mad as hell,
    BJ.

yes I am painfully aware of the shadow elite government which you refer to. eliminating the federal reserve would be a start at getting rid of them I think. glad to see someone else is mad as hell!!

oh and a taser is a electroshock weapon that stuns and shocks. most police people use them liberally these days. thanks for your comment. -peace-

        taser

Thanks for letting me know that. That sounds terrible!

Here in Australia the police use capsicum gas!

portal full of postcards from the edge, tourist season in hell.

Revolution - I'm with you, but it's not my government, not my country. And I'm an anarchist anyway. Society as complex as we have now does require some sort of order. Or what would you do, once the bureaucrats have been vanquished? I worry about who will tend the garden, now that 50% of the world's population live in urban settlements. Good call to arms, raising awareness can only help.
