envy slowly melts away
for I was given the chance
as residual shadows dance
yet I only stole a glance
perhaps to fetch another day
as residual shadows dance
envy slowly melts away
Author notes
I chose the prompt Green, thought of "green with envy," then thought of releasing that envy. I did not use the word in the poem, but it prompted me to write it. I used the form of a triolet, explanation below.
A
B
a - Rhymes with 1st line.
A - Identical to 1st line.
a - Rhymes with 1st line.
b - Rhymes with 2nd line.

What is it Confuscius says about Envy? Envy make heart green and mean, release envy and you be clean? Scrub envy from within skin, you be clean but still not thin?
Envy eats at tattered mind, let go envy and peace you find? Come on Confuscius, speak to the many who will visit this page.

Thanks, Kari Leigh Kanari!
I don't usually follow a form, but the contest asked for poetic form, so I went and found one... haha... not too fancy, but aren't we always happy to be inspired to write?
