To me he was everything,
My life was so bright and glorious,
I could never figure out why the people around me were sad
Never seeing the light or the good, only focusing on the bad
I didn’t know heartbreak back then
I didn’t know the way it feels
To smile up at someone and say
I love you
And watch as they look down
On you
And turn away in disgust
I don’t love you anymore…
To hear these words
So raw
This effrontery behind them
No love!
For me
No love
The disgust I could hear in his voice
As he turned around
And walked away.
To define my adolescence
Well
You’ll have to ask the person who took it all away.

Its good and while love in my adolescent years was something that never happened I can still feel the pain and a little bit of frustration in your poem. Those days have long since past me though and I appreciate the opportunity you've allowed me to relive a small piece of them through your poem.

Hm.
I'm a bit confused by the title, but the poem is what I understand. The first love is always the hardest to get over; I've never actually been in love, but I can understand what the pain would feel like. You did an excellent job depicting a real-life situation any teenager could go through, so props to that.
Good luck <3 -
