Once floating aimless in my sea of despair,
in search of an anchor that was not there.
Couldn’t control which way the winds blow,
had so many feelings with no where to go.
I found Allpoetry here three years ago too,
one of the first people I met here was you.
Learning to write in a 2nd language spoken,
read your poetry with English a bit broken.
Always intrigued by your talent since we met,
you have not ceased to impress me as of yet.
Immediately I felt a sisterhood in both our goals,
though so far away, so alike in our poetic souls.
Pure poetry flows from your gentle caring heart
I watched those struggles and I now see pure art!.
I’ve grown too with your applause and trophies,
taught by your adversity, for me it should be ease.
Happy Anniversary Sonya, I too share it with you,
my hope for you; those poetic dreams all do come true.
Your lovely poetry like gentle wind chimes to my ears,
here’s to number three and too many, many more years!

Sorry if I didn't meet criteria this just bubbled up while thinking of my dear sister Sonja. I KNOW I am not the only one who feels this way. Congratulations Sonja on your third year, I signed up in January but did not start until March of the same year. I have been one of your biggest fans and will continue to be. I don't need a trophy, I don't need the points, I don't care if I win, I have you as a friend and sister and that is reward enough for me. How can we help but love you Sonja?

Dawn, what a lovely written tribute to our Sonja! I have enjoyed Sonja's poetry from the very beginning and consider her one of the most talented poets on All Poetry. She continues to amaze me with her ability to write beautiful free verse and use language in a way that I never could imagine even though English is her second language. I have seen her language skills improve throughout the year that I have been here and greatly admire her! More than that, I love her gentle spirit. Congratulations, Sonja on celebrating your three year anniversary on AP!

Told you Sonja, we all love you out here, it has literally been like watching the catharsis of a lovely butterfly watching Sonja progress with her skills for these past three years. Sorry to make you cry, not my intention. I just want you to know what you mean to me. You have helped me through some hurtful situations and you assisted me with your wise advice and I will never forget you for it since you were one of the first people I made contact with on AP. That broken English I spoke of is a thing of the pazt and you have grown like a beautiful flower before our very eyes. Now I cannot tell you are writing in your second language. Mission accomplished! You know I love you Sonja!

As I said I am NOT the only one who feels this way about Sonja. Wow has it been a year already? Wow, where does the time go? Sonja has the talent to make magic out of everyday situations. It has been a rare treat to watch her growing through the past three years. She taught me that it COULD be much harder as it has to have been for Sonja, she keeps me going when the going gets rough. Thank you for your kind comments and applause. You my friend are another who has taken off in this past year. You also should be proud, I am proud of you!
