In the midnight hours late, I toss and turn wishing to fate,
Thinking about me with Only You.
In my head races a life full of happiness and strife,
Where I have no clue what to do, with me and Only You.
When I wake, happy or sad, I remember a breath I must take,
For when my breath is gone it is because I think of no one else, Only You.
And when we sit hand in hand I know I’m the luckiest in the land
Because you love me and I love Only You
And when sweet death shall take its toll our eyes will turn black as coal,
I know that after death, my love will remain for Only You.

The sentiment is lovely. The rhyme & meter could use work to make the poem flow more smoothly.
Thanks for your submission. Good luck with the contest. -
