Here's an old poem that I deleted from my AP for a couple reasons, but now I want it back, since it's so sweet and has great meaning for me. Check Author's note after reading, it will be worth it.
You say she's one of a kind,
Her scent's always on your mind.
Like sprinkled petals from a rose,
You can sense everywhere she goes.
Her pungent aroma, filling the air,
Reminding you of her silk-soft hair.
She may have long left the room,
Yet, her scent is still in bloom,
Intoxicating you with all its power,
The power of this unique flower.
Author notes
I wrote this poem a long time ago when I was either 17 or 18. This boy and I had the hugest crushes on eachother. we only had one class together, so the rest of the day was spend exchanging coy smiles in the halls and a gentle brush of hands when he would exit a class I was entering. One day, I made a different stop on my route to classes and lingered in a room only for a moment then we about my way. During our class together that afternoon, he gave me a mischeiveous smile and whispered into my ear.."you were in the library today, weren't you?" I just giggled and said that I was and asked how he knew it. He replied with one of the most beautiful things anyone has ever said to me, "I smelled you there. You smell so good and so unique from everyone else that I can always tell where you've been, because you linger there with that sweet smell of yours.Your perfume is not strong and you're not wearing too much, it's just that it blends with you and is so unique to you." I guess it pays off to wear expensive perfume for two reasons: it is made well and will mix with your own scent and diffuse all day, and because it is obscenely expensive, you can bet that no one else has it(In Highschool anyway) and you will remain unique. The perfume of this poem is Burberry (the original one).

I love this poem so much. I don't know why you would want to take it off. You should defiantly try to publish some of your poems they would defiantly make it in no doubt about it and if they said no they would be crazy. Keep writing for I love reading them. ~Hihamburger

Thank you so much for your encouragement. I am currently compiling a book of poetry and insights possibly to be titled "Drive On, Drive On: Growth And Love In The Straightaways And Curves".
'Unique Flower' was part of a series of really awesome poems once posted on AP. The series was dubbed the 'Our Story Collection' and was deleted due to the controversy that mine and this boy's relationship caused. It's a long and unfortunate story. I did manage to save hardcopies of the poems. However, this is the only surviving one, as they were all eventually burned for secrecy. This one survives only because I know it by heart. Who knows, some copies of the others might still exist somewhere. If I find them I will post them, since the controversy is no longer there and all is well. This boy and I have managed to keep in touch all of these years, despite all.
Love will prevail. Sorry for my ramblings. I just think it is very important to know the stories behind poetry, it helps us see the complete picture.
