Key turns in the lock
so twists her tortured heart
where to hide?
nowhere
echoing door clicks shut
bottles rattle then smash
stairwell creaks
frightened heartbeat
strangled breathing
faded bruises to return.

Oh man what a poem!...
This is wildly crafty... How compelling. I want to just climb right in the picture that you paint here, and carry her away to safety... In such few words... you have captured me...
