Today it rises
from an old vase
(surprised, I deeply inhale, closing my eyes)
seated on the old wooden bench,
full of colors
full of flowers.
Sudden, a silent guest
flying on its invisible sails
framing me
with sweet memories
and my heart quivers
like its white petals.

Very beautiful writing. I got lost in this. It is indeed, deep. I agree with Pam, there is a certain 'peace' to this write. Amazing how the power of words can make people feel emotions.
All the best

Outstanding
I liked how you painted a picture of solitude without even mentioning it - using imagery to create texture and tone. I thought the poem was emotional with some incredible imagery. Best of luck in the contest.

i like your alliteration with the letter "f" i really like the feel that it gives.
i think that the part about your heart quivering is brilliant because it goes with the picture so well. great write and good luck in the contest!

We are never alone, even when solitary. Your poem evokes the return of a memory by scent on a breeze. Beautiful words for the picture.

SO, SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
I have always found a certain peace, even joy in solitude at times. As an only child I had to find happiness and peace in being alone. I now consider myself so lucky to have had this and to learn by it.
When one is alone they see so much more beauty in the world around them.

Beautiful, soulful, serene poetry... even in solitude there is beauty and so often it is these quiet little moments, breathing the fragrance of flowers, of freesias that help us stay sane and alive. Lovely one - you know how much I love flowers in poetry!!
