You hear a cry from nowhere
not knowing from what,
from where?
In the stillness you hear a cry,
in an hour
in the night.
You wake
to hear a cry,
a yell,
a scream, From nowhere.
Author notes
When i wrote this, it was supposed to be horror, but i pictured the scream coming from a loved one, a child, screaming in the darkness, and you being so scared for the screamer.

It was very striking at first.. It maade me wonder Who is screaming...Why...at what? I love the whole thing. It flowed and kept the suspence to the very end. Very well written.

this poem has an almost "confused" feel to it...which, is perfect, since fear does bring on confusion. i love it. thank you so much for entering. love, lane
