As We Fall

Your hands linger

along my pulsating throat,

tracing the radiant rhythm

with your fingertips,

gathering my hair at the nape

as my eyes flame

with sweet sensation.

I reach out for you,

but you catch my arms

& pin them softly to my side

as your mouth

gently grazes

my turbulent, trembling skin.

I cry out, quietly ~

you hear me & smile,

releasing me as I struggle

to touch you tenderly

with my wild thoughts.

I am shivering

under the deluge

of your sunlight,

leaning against you

as we fall

into shadows,

"away from the things of Man"...

Inspired by Nicolette's poem, "the rain has soft lips"

Also inspired by the movie, "Joe Versus the Volcano", starring Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan...
she asked him where they were going & he replied:
"away from the things of Man, my Love...away from the things of Man."

    Wonderful!

What an incredible vision you've created here. And, hey, "Joe Vs. the Volcano" what a wonderful movie and now a prompt for an excellent poem. This is my favorite stanza:
    "releasing me as I struggle
    to touch you tenderly
with my wild thoughts." - very powerful! Keep your pen to the page and good luck in the contest!

This is brilliant in literally every way, sensual and poetic all at once, that takes some skill. Loved it.

A brilliant and truly erotic accomplishment that catches the essence of awakening passion, strokes it to maturity and carries it into the realm of the spiritual transcendence of time, space and symbol that comes from the intimacy of total surrender. Very well don.

    As if

    a cello would tremble
    at the warm notes
    of angels
    singing
    baby, baby....

    Smiles....!!!

"away from the things of Man, my Love...away from the things of Man."

Oooh yes!!!... and away from the world too - and the bed . Wow, Vlindertjie... you wrote this inspired by my rain-poem???? This is so very beautiful and I'm so honoured that somehow my poem inspired you to write something as sensual and as loving as this. And that quote... it just blends so beautifully into this poem - what an ending!!!! You are just amazing
