As I sit in this dark room,
thoughts twisting in the gloom.
Notions drift in my mind,
moments stolen hard to find.
A glacier wrapped round my soul,
dark voids are in supreme control.
Morbidly engulfed with bitter sin,
no more dancing pearls within.
Thunder breaks in walls of pain
shackled with a rusty chain.
Between the shadows that scream,
fluttering pages turn in dreams.
Brittle wings eternally grounded,
all suspicions are now founded.
Lies slowly unfolded crisp and bold,
immobilized eternally within your hold.
Author notes
Prompt; Write a poem with one of the first line being your first line. Por example: So you ask me for the truth, I cannot tell a lie. I found my brother dead today, eaten by a fly (silly yes, but you get the idea).

Nicely done here. I love the way you open this with the line, it's wonderfully portrayed. I also love the theme of this poem too, it's so raw and emotional to me. Well done.

This poem is really sad I get the feelings from this of someone who has been so badly hurt by lies that have not ever been admitted that she feels unable to ever feel free to love again for fear of being hurt in the same way and is trapped in her lonely hell unable to leave it. another Brilliant Poem (Brian)
