My ears were blessed by such beauty
My eyes christened with light from above
Allowing sunshine into my soul
Prayers of thanks given in return
I chanced to see at break of day Mother Nature at her best
All around were creatures great and small
And there sat I, among all that mattered
My pew, a grassy mound within the Cathedral of the Forest
Gave me the best seat in the house
How this could be pictured without the purest of hearts
Will never cease to bring joy to all with open arms
Grasp what is given without price
And pay nothing in return apart from praise

A joy to read!

Brother,
I find a continuing wonder and awe in your words. As one who awakens to the greater mystery around us, we become lost in that gifting. It is always in the steadfastness to that initial awakening that we can grow.
To know that just as in nature, we too have an aspect of that mystery within us. One dying to be awakened to, longing to be realized. For He who created nature, created us as well to exist in harmony with it.
Your words leave a peaceful, easy feeling in their wake. May your life be long in days and may you never lose this sense of enchantment throughout them.

I especially enjoyed your "christened with light from above, allowing sunshine into my soul". You bring to focus that joyous blessings are given, and our failure to grasp their beauty is species of ingratitude. Open hearts and open arms (and open eyes) allow us to receive so much priceless joy!

It is gifts like your comment that also allow our hearts to smile also. Thank You.

From beginning to end, I hear the voice of awe.
Without saying it, you leave no doubt as to this
being a solitary soul's journey into the grace
and beauty of nature's forest. Blue

Very strong and inspiring. I was lost in the first stanza, lost in the beauty of it and wanting to read more. This whole piece is a spiritual journey of the soul and I love it.

It is when words bring joy to others hearts, that make writing your thoughts feel like your sharing the beauty you see when you write them.
