To walk without pain,
in sunshine and rain.
To go as far as I wish,
without the burden of this.
This disease has no cure,
pain free dreams are a lure.
but when reality dawns,
we're just medical pawns.
I've tried every trick,
of herbal cures had my pick.
Exercise, then relaxing,
my patience it's taxing.
Arthroscopy and injection,
should work to perfection.
But alas, not for me,
no respite do I see.
Pain killers stop working,
can't work, feel I'm shirking.
It's not life threatening, that's true,
but this pain makes me blue.
So I wish for the time,
when new knees will be mine.
Until I'm put on the list,
in constant pain I exist.

Any one who has severe arthritis will know what I'm talking about. I try to stay positive but sometimes it's difficult.

Good luck in the contest with this Ann. Very well penned indeed. I'm sure many people can relate to this, know the frustration you have and the pain you feel. Hope that one day soon you will be pain free. I really liked the last stanza..
So I wish for the time,
when new knees will be mine.
Until I'm put on the list,
in constant pain I exist.
Unfortunately so often how we exist, a name on a NHS list.

As one who has a condition that leave me also in constant pain i well understand this one. Pain though to me in the end is something to live with and not to fight with,I guess i see other worst off so just get on with it That is not to make small of such conditions as i do know how they can affect one daily life
A well expressed poem that i am sure will find many relating to it
Great rhyme , flow and meter Good luck in the contest
