Pulsating rhythm and beat
beneath the surface
the outer layer that hides
the core
underneath
strands of string, split and creeping at the ends
and off-white chipped ivory, mountains capped with silver
with dark marks in abstract patterns.
Shiver.
a gentle touch to the shell
sending rippled waves of furious pleasure
down secret stairs
a little too much tissue hiding certain parts,
beautiful,
but the eyes of jade show all
And so,
from the mind and from the heart
which beats a beat of silent awe
that which is hidden
by masks and flesh
is no longer hidden
is hidden no more.

Wonderful imagery! We all are hidden deep down inside in one way or another. I like your repetition of the word hidden in the last verse of the poem. Thank you for entering this in my contest. I truly enjoyed reading this poem.

The poem was an excellent read and the flow perfectly ballanced. Romance at its best within painted words upon a page well done (HM)
