They may be wet and cold
and hide the sun.
My bones may ache; I'm old.
I walk, not run,
but I'm a sailor; rain
is only weather.
I'm a cowboy; pain
is like old leather
beneath me when I ride,
a constant friend.
I feel the waters slide.
I ride the wind!
I've never wanted to
push clouds away.
I've watched them as they grew,
heard what they say
about the storms, the winds,
the rain or snow.
The clouds are like old friends
that come and go.
They may give shade; they may
obscure the view
but never hide my way
back home to you.
It doesn't matter now
what lies above.
No clouds can hide
or chill the ride...
make cold inside
the heart that's warmed by you!

Like anything I write that speaks of love, this is for my beloved wife.

Very well done
I really liked this. I liked the beat and the pictue that the verse painted. I can feel the clouds.

-
It has a lil somethin' 'bout nature, more importantly the sky and clouds (I can get immersed in them until I lose track of time, though I prefer the stars to clouds) and then the rest is love.
le sigh
It feels like a cloudy day inside today, but your poem reminds me of how good I got it right now...too bad he's at work.
Off I go to hibernate again, but I had to read, and therefore comment on this poem as it's been staring at me whenever I come on here for 2 days now!
