You are
the reason
I'll always
be a circle
not in that
good, smart
C. S. Lewis
sort of way
picture a dog,
chasing its tail
and succeeding
only to find
far worse,
self-inflicted
smarting pain
I'm not smart
but I know
You said to me
"die to self"
but my self
loves me, too
I want You
I need You
and I wonder
will I always
be a circle
reaching for
Your circle
hurting my
self
wanting more
Author notes
1 Peter 2:24: "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed."
I don't know if I know how to do that.

I'm not sure I know how to either. Though the things I'm not sure about are plenty. Excellent work of poetry.

I just realized...
sometimes all my poetry looks the same.
