Irish Lullaby

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Oh siren of death why cry for me when I’m young,
there is a witch awaiting at my door.
Wait till I’m old for so much more will I have done
isn’t there someone else whose has done more?

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

When young men are tempted by the maid of the sea
hold him back no matter how he may cry.
If you let him near the water then leave him be
unless you wish so foolishly to die.

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

The little men will trick you and take your treasure
if you get enraptured by power.
Grant you one, two, three, and there will be great pleasure.
Be there four they’ll crumble your tower.

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

Little devils will replace your little one
so don’t take your eyes away from there.
But fear not love for even when it has been done
you may still win your child if you care.

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

Run dumb child from the headless or you will perish.
If he stops by you there is no hope.
Sorrow, memories can only be cherished
whoa for those left behind who now must cope.

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

Annoying you are invisible man, away!
I have no time for your foolish nonsense.
Oh you pest if you do not leave and leave this day
I’ll call the preacher from beyond the fence.

Sing this lullaby before evil can befall
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

Tremble in fear for the dark horse rides this night
and he searches for the most naive soul.
Some are said to of died from horrible fright
when the goblin cries out for his toll.

Sing this Irish lullaby ‘fore evil falls
when fears arise and creatures call.

Away banshee away phouka away merrow
Leave Leprechaun changeling and dullaham.
Grogoch bother me no more from way down below.

I read this earlier today but didn't have time to comment. I enjoyed it. I can definently hear it being sung with an irish accent.

I really enjoy irish mythology... though big fat red haired leprachauns still give me the creeps! I had a dream about an evil one once.
