Time Yet To Come

Where is my time

To be honest I’ve forgotten

Such a filled day

With life gone rotten

Trying to keep my child

On the right track

Since his dad had a new family

And didn’t want him back

Hours twist

For I dont have the time

To give an happy hour to myself

Or that son of mine

Long nights distorted

In nothing but guilt and shame

Because my life is a racetrack

Without time to my name

So yes where is my time

This life and soul of the party

I guess it was before

I wasn’t trying to better my family

Yet when my studies are over

I know my time will come

For I’ll be sitting on a beach in Australia

Spending quality time with my son

Our time is yet to come

This probably isn't what you are after, yet to me this is how I feel about my time and that of my son.

Good emotional work on this Katey. I admired the words put into this. Thanks again!

That was many things. Deep, emotional, powerful, and the wording of the piece filled with a determination to see it through the bad times.

'Since his dad had a new family

    And didn’t want him back'

That stanza hit home. It was very very strong. I found this sad too, that there are so many people [and I was one of them] who had been left holding and bringing up the child while the partner did their own thing.

But, you know what, what goes around comes around. As your piece so clearly states, you will be sitting on a beach in Australia, spending quality time.

    Powerful piece indeed.

    Well done Katey.
    Love

    all the best

    Excellent verse
    no hype.
I found the words' frame reflecting
    a true to real situation
A wailing song of a distressed mother
    from an aching heart
all the best in my contest
